Among this flock of Kestrels is our 2,200th pair....a staggering number in 'high end' circles!

Back in 1994, the Kestrel was the speaker that made Meadowlark's debut onto the national market. The whole idea of a modestly priced transmission line floorstander captured the attention of dealers and customers alike.  Contrary to the then conventional wisdom, a small company with only one product DID succeed at becoming a national brand, and posted some pretty amazing sales figures to boot. To this day, the Kestrel continues to be our #1 seller.

Since it's introduction, Kestrel has continuously been improved.  We have refined our manufacturing processes for cabinets and placed a few wonderful new tools on line to assure accuracy and consistency. The finishing process in particular has been well perfected for a very clear and uniform appearance. Yet, the making of cabinets remains mostly in the hands of skilled craftsmen.

Out methods for assembly have come a long way too, but each Kestrel is still entirely hand assembled, hand soldered and hand tested.  Our crossovers, which will always be point to point wired, are hand soldered and entirely made in house. Also, we have taken many opportunities to upgrade the quality the internal wire, solder and crossover elements along the way.

While the corporate 'Goliaths' with which we compete are usually on a quest to reduce costs by cheapening their product and by moving production off shore, we've taken the opposite route.  Meadowlark products are proudly made by a group of American men and women who care about making a better speaker.  So today, our Kestrels look and sound better than they ever have.
